JOB DUTIES:
The incumbent reports to the Sales Support Manager, understands the theoretical concepts and principles and their context acquired through professional or academic qualification or through experience within the role of Commercial Analyst (at SG 20) or thru technical knowledge developed from years of engineering, manufacturing or service engineering type positions and/or commercial knowledge from fieldwork, orders or marketing. The incumbent receives moderate guidance and direction from supervisor, and regularly applies their own judgment to determine whether to needs new procedures to achieve the required end results adhering to existing policies or principles. Plays an expanded role within the Commercial Analyst position by personally supporting a specific area of Sales responsibility, possibly including International Sales, Governmental Sales, ETO quoting ability, Pre-Rep responsibilities, etc.
The duties mainly include but not limited to:
Inquiry response. This position performs functions for numerous inquiries received from field personnel, dealers, and customers as they relate to product, marketing, service engineering, and parts. Most situations encountered by the incumbent require a rapid, high quality response (these are often related to short dated sales opportunities). Incumbent evaluates inquiries and decides on the complexity and depth of response. For those needing further expertise, identifies the individual, communicates the request, obtains the response and assures communication back to the requesting party, all within the time frame established by the requester. Inquiries may relate to pricing, order status, warranty procedures, proper maintenance of equipment, etc. And most inquiries come in the form of phone calls, emails and faxes.
Commercial analysis. Incumbent provides analysis assistance/feedback to the Product and Commercial staff related to sales development, service engineering and custom products. Has limited authority to provide additional discounting up to a certain percent off the sale price with guidance from supervisor. Reviews and understands inventory data and makes recommendations relative to inventory practices (Forecast
